Crowley Thoth Tarot Deck
The powerful Thoth Tarot deck was designed by Aleister Crowley, an influencial and controversial occultist of the early 20th century. He worked on the deck from 1938 to 1943. This deck was created to illustrate Crowley's The Book of Thoth. The artist is Lady Frieda Harris. She worked with Crowley's rough sketches to produce images that would be faithful to his interpretations and her own vision. There are two versions of the Thoth deck. The cards pictured to either side are from the version published by U. S. Games with green borders and more muted colors. A second version known as the Swiss Thoth is published by AGMuller. It has grey borders and is pocket-sized. A special edition of the Swiss Thoth is available from U. S. Games. This deck contains three versions of the Magus (Magician) card. (See below). There are also two companion books and a Spanish version of the Special Edition.
