The Beginner's Guide to Tarot
The Beginner's Guide to Tarot is designed to help new tarot students get started with the cards. It includes a deck by artist Giovanni Caselli and an instruction book by Juliet Sharman-Burke. The deck is based on the popular Rider-Waite. Anyone familiar with that deck will recognize the card scenes immediately, but they are also quite distinctive. The orientation and many of the details have been changed. Each card's theme is presented in an obvious way to aid in learning. Sharman-Burke's text is clear and straightforward. She describes each suit as a group and encourages the student to learn each one well before moving on to the next. The majors are identified by name only, not by number. Sharman-Burke is also the creator of the well-known Mythic Tarot.
