Celtic Tarot
Courtney Davis created the Celtic Tarot as a way "to re-establish a lost legacy of Celtic art and mythology within the ancient wisdom of the tarot." He was born in South Wales in 1946 and has been painting and writing about Celtic themes for over 25 years. The major arcana cards are Celtic archetypes such as Queen Macha for Strength (left) and the Archdruid for the Magician (right). The court cards refer to mythological Celtic characters. The numbered cards show suit symbols. Each suit has a different colored border. The borders are made up of the intricate spirals and knotwork typical of Celtic art. The Celtic Tarot was originally published by Aquarian Press in 1991. This version comes in a sturdy storage case with the companion book Celtic Tarot and a book of blank pages for notes.
