Legend: The Arthurian Tarot
Legend: The Arthurian Tarot combines the structure and symbolism of the tarot with the legend of King Arthur and other tales of the time. Deck designer and artist Anne-Marie Ferguson has drawn on Celtic legend, the histories of chroniclers, medieval romances and the Holy Grail Quest. Each card in the deck shows some person, object or event from one of these legends. They are labelled both with their tarot name and the aspect of the legend they depict. The minor arcana cards do not have the suit symbols integrated into the scene; they are shown in a small rectangle instead. The Pages are not people in this deck, but creatures who symbolize the spirit of their suit. There is a separate companion book for this deck called A Keeper of Words: Legend The Arthurian Tarot. This book offers more details about the stories, history, meanings and symbolic imagery of the cards.
