Phantasmagoric Theater Tarot
Artist Graham Cameron imagines that we are all playing roles in the Phantasmagoric Theater which is life. Phantasmagoric means "a shifting series of real or imaginary figures as seen in a dream," and the whimsical images in this deck do often seem to be drawn from some kind of bizarre dream. The suits represent four different places: the Fire Wand Circus, the Water Cup Desert, the Air Sword Labyrinth and the Earth Coin Village. Cameron favors certain symbols such as jigsaw puzzle pieces, dice and numbers. These can be found throughout the deck and on the backs of the cards. The court card characters and other figures are often given names such as Twister, the Page of Coins.
