Psycards
"Psycards are a system of symbolic pictures in card form which can assist an individual to know him or herself better." This first sentence from the Psycard instruction booklet shows how this deck serves much the same purpose as the tarot. The psycards present certain human experiences and psychological qualities in a clear, direct manner. The 40 cards are divided into groups: the Inquirer card (you), four directions, seven fundamentals, seven archetypes, seven symbols, seven characters, and seven happenings. Some of the cards echo those in the tarot, such as the Fool, Death and Sun. Others are unique to this deck. The instruction booklet offers card meanings, spreads and guidelines, but tarot techniques could also be adapted for use with these cards. The pictures are by Maggie Keen, a British illustrator.
