Tarot Roots of Asia
Tarot Roots of Asia is inspired by the teachings of the Buddha and the path of self-actualization. The artist Amnart Klanprachar is now living a hermetic life. He is devoted to communicating truth through art and spent one year creating this deck reflecting his vision of the beauty of inward truth. The cards in this deck are dominated by the image with just the name and number at the bottom. Each suit is devoted to a different element and aspect of life. Animals associated with a suit's element appear in many cards in that suit: birds (swords), tiger (wands), sea creatures (cups), elephants (pentacles). The instruction booklet by Thaworn Boonyawan offers interpretations and insight into each card from the perspective of Buddist thought. He also discusses the symbolic meaning of the images on each card. There is a section at the end describing the practice of insight meditation.
