Templar Tarot
The Templar Tarot combines the tarot with the legends and spiritual legacy of the Knights Templar. The Knights Templar were a religious military order formed at the end of the First Crusade. They became a powerful force in the medieval world until their eradication in 1307 by King Phillippe IV of France. In the Templar Tarot, the major arcana cards and court cards show key figures and scenes from the history of this secret society. There is also a 79th mystery Magic Flute card holding a secret to be revealed during meditation. The artist Allen Chester worked for five years to create the original oil paintings that make up the Templar Tarot. He designed his cards to reflect the images and symbols of the traditional tarot and those of this mystical organization. The instruction booklet has a brief history of the Knights Templar and suggested meanings for each of the cards (54 pages).
