Universal Tarot

The Universal Tarot is a reimagining of the Rider-Waite deck by Italian illustrator Roberto de Angelis. At first glance, this deck seems quite close to the Rider-Waite, but there are many interesting differences as well. Overall, the deck has a more dynamic, less stylized feel. The clothes, objects and locations are more obviously suggestive of the Renaissance period. The colors are softer, and there is more fine detail. Many cards have different settings, and in the minor arcana, the elements of the scene are often "flipped." Some figures take unfamiliar poses or have more pronounced expressions. The card names are basically the same except the cups suit is chalices and pages are knaves. Names are given in six languages. (An older version of this deck has only five). The deck comes with a 14-page instruction sheet in English. It's also included in the Comparative Tarot. There is also a miniature version of the Universal Tarot.
