Vertical Oracle

To Antero Alli, vertical "refers to the internal realms of our innermost soul..." and horizontal, to the "out-there world of others, society...and the cosmos at large." Life is made up of the intersections of these two dimensions. The 52 cards of the Vertical Oracle mix people, objects and scenes in ways that bring the two together. Indeed, the cards themselves have both orientations - some are vertical, some horizontal (see below). Artist Sylvie Pickering created each one as a collage of images with a keyword meaning. The instruction booklet gives the meaning behind the symbols and an astrological reference for each card. The Vertical Oracle comes in the kind of hard plastic case used for movie tapes.
