World Spirit Tarot
The World Spirit Tarot is an inclusive deck highlighting the family of man. Although it features people of many cultures, races and ethinic groups, every figure is a unique character as well. There are the usual ideal body types, but we also find a bald man, elderly thinker and young woman with glasses. Some figures are intentionally androgynous. The overall effect is a deck that showcases humanity's uniqueness and commonality. The artist Lauren O'Leary created these cards as hand-colored lineoleum block prints - a process taking several weeks for each. The images are rich with color and detail. The major arcana cards show the card number and name; the minor arcana cards, just the name. The court cards are seers (curious students), seekers (active risk-takers), sibyls (mature wise-women) and sages (accomplished authorities). The instruction booket by Jessica Godino describes the image on each card and its meaning. This deck also comes in a Spanish version called "Tarot Mistico Universal."
