Waking the Wild Spirit Tarot

Poppy Palin created the Waking the Wild Spirit Tarot to celebrate the natural world and stimulate awareness of our true Wild Self. She wanted her deck to evoke vivid responses, so she designed each card to be a work of magical fiction - to present a character and story to capture the imagination and release emotions. The figures and forms in her cards are "essences from fairy tale and childhood fantasy, myth and evocative legend." The four minor arcana suits represent the spirits of the four elements: fire, water, air and earth. The borders are colored-coded to match: red, blue, yellow and green. A symbol for each suit element is included in the border: flame, drop, feather and leaf. A descriptive word or phrase is given at the bottom. The major arcana cards have a red and yellow border with a star symbol. These cards have a number and descriptive name at the top and a spirit name at the bottom. The Waking the Wild Spirit deck comes as a set with Stories of the Wild Spirit in which Palin tells the tales for all the cards.
