Etruscan Tarot
The Etruscans lived in ancient Italy before the time of the Roman Empire - approximately 950 to 300 B.C. Their civilization prospered for a time, but then disappeared mysteriously. Most of what is known about the Etruscans comes from the buildings and artifacts they left behind. The Etruscan way of life is depicted on painted tombs found in the area of modern Tuscany. These paintings show people celebrating the joys of everyday life with passion and sensuality. Silvia Alasia has drawn on this art in creating the Etruscan Tarot deck. She has reproduced the colors and "motives" exactly from Etrurian paintings and vases. Each card shows an image with the card number and name in six languages. The Etruscan Tarot is published by Lo Scarabeo of Italy and distributed by Llewellyn in the US.
